Hello! This is a sneak peek at chapter eight. I know, exciting. ;) This is mainly an introduction of Sam, Luke's brother.
Before either of them continued, Mr. Kenneth spoke up. “Perfect timing, Sam. We were just talking about you.”
“About how amazing I am, right?”
Luke’s brother was similar in looks to him and their father. He was the same height as Luke, if not a little more muscular, and like their dad, he was tan. But that was where the similarities ended. He had long, blonde hair, and his eyes were gray. Lilith guessed that those traits had come from their mother.
“Not exactly,” Luke’s dad said, a smile curling his lips.“This garage sure is getting crowded. Let’s head to the training room. Lilith, just follow Luke.”
“Training room?”Lilith prompted Luke as they walked toward the door.
“Yeah. Our Elemental training room.”
“Your family has been here three days and you’ve already set one up?” Lilith raised her eyebrows.
Luke looked like he was about to respond when without warning a whole new voice popped into their conversation. “You’ve got to work on your poker face, Lilith Ross.”
She jumped. Oh, right. Sam.
Lilith stared at the back of Sam’s head and thought, “So I’ve been told.” They entered the kitchen through the mudroom, and Eddy and Olivia were still working.
A snicker escaped Sam at her thoughts. Lilith’s lab partners looked up from the sketch in front of them. Out of the corner of her eye, Lilith peeked at the clock on the Kenneth’s microwave. Four o’clock.
